Information WalkThere currently processes
WalkThere does not provide user accounts or payment processing. Before you make a choice, or if you choose aggregate-only analytics, WalkThere sends minimal first-party aggregate events without a persistent visitor or session identifier. These events do not include a full URL, referrer, device profile, or user-agent value, and WalkThere does not store the request IP address with them. If you email service@walkthere.world, your email address and the information you send are processed so we can read and respond to your message.
A hosting provider may process routine request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of access for security and delivery. Retention and access to those logs depend on the hosting provider used for the deployed site.
Analytics data and local storage
Aggregate and detailed modes both record a limited event set: page views, journey starts, chapter views, journey completions, language changes, and outbound-link host names. Event parameters are limited to destination, chapter, language, and source labels. We do not send waitlist form values, email addresses, or precise street-view interactions. Aggregate-only events contribute to event and individual-step totals, but not to visitor counts, retention, paths, or person-level funnels.
Only after you accept detailed analytics may an analytics request include a first-party visitor identifier, session identifier, referring page, browser and device type, language, time zone, viewport size, and the IP address seen by our server. Your analytics choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it. With consent, the browser also stores the visitor identifier, session identifier, attribution labels, and unsent events so they can be retried. Choosing aggregate-only mode removes those analytics identifiers and queued events. You can clear the saved choice through your browser site-data settings.
Google Analytics
WalkThere uses Google Analytics advanced Consent Mode (measurement ID G-WRZ75P382G). Google’s tag loads even before you choose or when you choose necessary-only analytics. Analytics storage and all advertising consent types default to denied, allowing cookieless measurement signals without reading or writing Google Analytics cookies. Google may still receive page URLs, event information and technical request data, including your IP address in transit, under its own policies; cookieless does not mean no data is sent. After you accept analytics cookies, analytics storage is granted for fuller measurement. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization remain denied. Choosing necessary-only mode revokes analytics storage for future measurement, but does not delete data already received by Google. Clear saved cookies using your browser settings if needed.
Demo waitlist
The waitlist shown in the Mount Emei demonstration is a local interface demonstration. The entered email address is validated in your browser but is not sent to or stored by WalkThere. Reloading the page clears it.
Mapillary and OpenStreetMap
WalkThere does not contact Mapillary or the configured map tile service before you choose to activate an immersive journey. After activation, your browser requests imagery or map tiles directly from those providers. They may receive technical request information and process it under their own policies.

Editorial sources, photography credits, licences, and provider attributions may link to other websites. Following those links takes you to services governed by their own privacy practices. Documentary photographs stored with this site do not contain a WalkThere user identifier.
Retention and your choices
Analytics events are retained for up to 90 days. Contact emails may be retained while needed to respond, maintain a record of a correction or rights request, protect the service, or meet legal obligations. You may ask about or request deletion of information you sent directly to us, subject to obligations that require retention.
